People most likely feel good when they wear your favorite color. It is important to know that any color of the dress can send particular messages. Today we will talk about the history and meaning of pink and white color in various cultures.
One of the most common examples of color symbolism in clothing is the custom of using pink for girls and blue for boys. This tradition emerged in 1921, when the Women’s Institute for Domestic Science in Pennsylvania endorsed pink for boys, blue for girls. However the situation differs depending on the culture and historical origin. Pink, for example is a very masculine color in Bermuda. Also, British bankers and barristers have worn pink shirts for decades and it also goes in and out of fashion in other parts of the world.
White is the traditional color for a bride’s wedding gown in the United States and most European cultures. This color symbolizes purity and innocence. However in Asia, white is the color of death. This arises from the faith that death is seen as a beginning and that white represents the purity that the deceased brings into the next life. This is why the brides in Japan and China wear red in traditional wedding ceremonies. White is also associated with death in India, where widows wear white.
